How can you improve the way you market with Facebook?

Because Facebook is the social medium of choice for many entrepreneurs, here are some of the best strategies for success.

#1 To maximize the effectiveness of videos on Facebook, use Open Graph

Sharing videos, not just images, on Facebook will make your page more appealing and interactive.
When someone likes a product, page, or video it is published and appears on others’ news feeds.

If you have a video, the published content will look more appealing to those who see it.
Every time someone likes a product, the video will be displayed and introduce people to the product or service in a unique and interactive way. There are an infinite amount of ways to advertise this way.
In general, videos are much more appealing and likely to capture attention than a still image.
You can do this by adding the following meta tags to your Open Graph on Facebook:

#2: Try posting during off hours

While it makes sense to post during normal business hours, it may be beneficial to experiment with posting outside of normal business hours.
Try posting during early mornings, late evenings, and also on weekends. Follow your responses and try it more than once. Also try different schedules each week. For example, if you post twice a day, try posting once during business hours and once in the evening.
A recent study of 20 famous brands by Yesmail found that “campaigns deployed between 10 pm-12 am ET were an engagement goldmine. Based on volume, however, this timeslot was the least utilized for deployment.” And, “The most popular time of day to deploy campaigns was between 11 am-1 pm ET, while paradoxically, this timeslot was in the bottom 30% in terms of engagement.”
A different study on 200 fan pages by Buddy Media illustrated that “ engagement is highest at 4 am, 7 am, and 11 pm, but that brands post the most during business hours.”
Additionally, don’t forget to keep track of your fans’ location, as this has an effect on their hours and when they post.

#3: Add more photos in creative ways

Visual media is the most effective way to market because it is way more interesting and appealing than plain text or links.
Posting images a photos creatively will make your page livelier. Try posting an image with text or a video with a link to attract interest.

Even try adding images to quotes.
Sometimes it can help to find a graphic artist to create an image to illustrate a message and add a unique twist on a marketing campaign.
When photos or images show up in new feeds, friends are more likely to click on those images than if they were plain text links.
Your Facebook page name follows all images that are reposted from your page, so try posting more photos for a week or so and see what the results are!

#4: Sponsored posts can increase recognition

Although you want your page’s content to reach an audience it is competing with a few different factors. Not only is your content competing with other businesses, but also with other friends’ content.
On average, only 16% of your content will reach your fans.
Page post ads allow you to ensure that content is seen by the maximum amount of people. For as little as $10, or as much as you’d like, you can reach a greater number of fans from a Facebook ad. This is an excellent way to get more impressions, likes, and clicks!
Sponsored Post ads are most effective for interesting content, such as videos, webinar offers, or special deals. Additionally, you can test sponsored ads for minimal risk and increase based on results.

#5: Ask your fans about product decisions

Seeing an enthusiastic response to a product is always rewarding. Regardless of the product or decision, it could be a good idea to have fans participate in a part of it.
Ask the opinion of your fans as close to the launch as possible. Incite excitement by notifying them of the urgent decision and limited time. If appropriate, include photos of the possible choices.
After the decision is made, inform them of the choice and thank them for their assistance.
By involving your fans and customers in some business decisions, they feel more a part of the process and a sense of ownership, and will therefore be more likely to share and buy your product.

#6: Use the new scheduling tool!

Facebook now allows users to schedule a posting time. While this function used to be available through third-party platforms, Facebook now offers it to everyone.
This tool may be worth using, considering some of the unresolved rumors of posts from third-party platforms getting less exposure.
You can ensure that your posts are posted at the perfect time, and when used with the location targeting feature you can maximize exposure.
You can save time by scheduling many posts at once and mapping out your location plan, as well as not having to log in multiple times.
Of course, in order to maintain spontaneity and stay genuine, it may not be a good idea to completely rely on planned posts, but it can work wonders for many.

#7: Attract more fans with contests

How do you get more fans? Well, there are countless ways to promote you page, depending on your managing style and target audience.
Contests, however, seem to work for everyone.
Contests get fans to participate and they often attract their friends, which allows you to collect contact information for potential consumers. This can help expand marketing to arenas outside of Facebook.
Facebooks contests are a fantastic way to participate with fans and promote your product. With a wide range of third-party apps to help, it is really simple to organize contests and stay compliant with user guidelines. Prices for these apps range from free to thousands of dollars per month.
Considering which type of contest is best is also important, as not all contests are the same or should be used for the same results.
The key to Facebook marketing success is understand your target audience and communicating with them. It is all a trial and error process. So keep experimenting!

#8: Start using a personal profile!

As a social network, Facebook is a place where people connect and make friends. Without an active personal profile, it is impossible to understand the multiple dimensions that Facebook offers.
Facebook is like learning a new language. People can pick out an outsider right away if you don’t undertand the culture, jokes, body language, or more.
Facebook is not different. All of the books on Facebook can’t provide the practical experience necessary to becoming a comfortable user.

#9: Allocate the resources needed

Most people don’t understand how much work it actually takes to be successful on Facebook
A good question to ask is if “we have a company that conveys messages that people will want to share and discuss, or can we become a company like that?”

New Facebook Timeline Features

New Features are available with the new Facebook Timeline for individual and business pages. Testing for some of the features is still ongoing, but you can learn new options that will be available.

Page Switching

Switching between global and local pages is a new feature for the new Facebook Timeline. Look under the cover photo for a new option that is called Switch Region. If you do not see this on your page, go over to the Facebook Marketing Page. You will see that a global page and local page have the same number for Fans or Likes. The number that will vary from page to page is People Talking About. Another feature in the future will be a redirection to a local page that is based on user location.

Page Management with iPhone

Users of the Apple iPhone can install a Page Manager app to see page activity. Also available to admins is the ability to respond to comments and to see insights. To do this, you will first need to download the Main Facebook app to your iPhone or iPad. The Page Manager will then need to be installed. Users can then use their iPhone or iPad to post a status update and see available options. Notifications can also be sent to alert you when there is interaction with your page.

Brand Posts

The new Facebook Timeline includes a new feature on posts that is called percentage links. This is the percentage of fans that have viewed a particular post. You will have this option available for a brand page.

Branding with a Timeline Video

A new feature for the Timeline is a movie maker application. This is a great way to share a video that is about your business with friends and fans. The use of this feature depends on the number of photos that are available on your page.

Brands On Facebook Don’t Get The Picture

Photos are, by far, the type of Facebook content that draws the most engagement, so surely, brands on the social network focus on them, right? Not so much.

According to a study of 300 brand pages, 150,000 Facebook posts, and 700 million likes by social media agency Pandemic Labs, brands on Facebook instead to post more links, which draw the least engagement.
